The Sam Maguire

This year, on Thursday 29th September,  the Sam Maguire Cup was brought to our school for the grand opening of our newly built astro pitch. On the day when the Sam Maguire came, we all got to dress up in Dublin colours and take pictures. Some Dublin players came along with the Dublin manager Pat Gilroy. Some past pupils of the school also attended the grand opening of our astro pitch. These included Cormac Costello, Cormac Ryan, Steffi Creaner and Sarah McCarthy. One of the Dublin players, Bernard Brogan, made a speech and so did Pat Gilroy. Some people even got to hold the Sam Maguire Cup. Afterwards a lot of people were allowed to go home because their parents were there.
All in all, it was a great day and will go down in St. Fiachra's history.

Our Cake Sale

Hi my name is Kate and on November 30th we had our cake sale, we had cakes , ice cream, a chocolate fountain and two popcorn machines. In total we raised 2,150 euro.It was a great day and it was lots of fun.We all  had different  jobs to do that day some of us sold raffle tickets others sold their cakes and some people served popcorn, ice cream, crisps and drinks. It took a lot of work to get our cake sale organised we even went around to different shops looking for sponsorship ,then we went around to all the classes to tell them about our cake sale and all of our 72 great prizes.

Hi my name is Sean, in the Cake Sale I was selling ice-cream with Ryan. We sold lots of ice-cream and some people wanted toppings and as one of the toppings I used pieces of my chocolate biscuit cake, it was very nice. Conor and I went to lots of local shops and businesses. One of the shops that we approached was Finlay's Jewellers and they gave us a very nice necklace.

Hi my name is Alex, in the Cake Sale I was selling brownies and buns with melted chocolate and pink shimmer sugar. They sold very quickly so I sold some of my friend's cakes to help her out. My friends and I went to different shops to get sponsorship. It was lots of fun and we got some vouchers as well. The day after the Cake Sale we got to eat the left overs and watched a movie, it was really fun that day!
